Understanding and Responding to the Needs of Different Advocacy Groups (2 taught days) Unit 304

This module examines how to respond to the specific advocacy needs of different people such as;

  • Black people and ethnic minority groups
  • Older people
  • People who do not use English as their first language
  • People who are physically disabled
  • People with learning disabilities
  • People with mental health needs
  • Young people
  • Those who cannot instruct an advocate
  • People with sensory impairments

By completing this module you will develop practical strategies to make advocacy accessible to different groups and gain knowledge in how to work with different groups.

This module also includes detailed information on when to use non instructed advocacy and how to use it effectively.

You should complete this if you want to develop skills working with diverse groups or want to understand how to use non instructed advocacy with individuals who cannot instruct you.
