Providing Independent Advocacy to Adults (3 taught days) Unit 308
Advocates work with adults across a number of different settings. They provide support to access information, explore choices and help adults to make complaints when they are unhappy about a service received.Advocates can also be asked to support a person to attend a meeting or access services.
This specialist unit explores providing advocacy to adults in a range of settings including:
- care homes;
- hospital wards;
- community settings,
- secure settings,
- supported housing,
- prisons,
- day centre's and
- police stations.
