Independent Advocacy Management (4 taught days) Unit 307

This unit supports managers of advocacy services to develop a range of practical skills required to manage and provide an effective service.

The unit explores important areas such as how to manage relationships with stakeholders ranging from service users to commissioners, how to negotiate tenders and SLAs with local authority or PCT commissioners, how to recruit advocates including volunteers, how to create and sustain effective working relationships with service providers and how to meaningfully involve service users in the running of the service.

You should undertake this unit if you are currently managing an advocacy service and would like to sharpen your skills or are considering extending your advocacy management skills.
