Kate Mercer Training
Kate Mercer is registered as the sole trader of Kate Mercer Training which offers training and consultancy in the field of health and social care, particularly advocacy and children's rights. Kate Mercer Training offers a range of training courses to organisations who work with vulnerable people, including 'using advocacy skills', 'raising the participation of children and young people', 'promoting children's rights' and 'peer advocacy for young people'.
Kate recently worked for CSIP to develop and create national qualifications in independent advocacy. This valuable experience provides unique insight into running qualifications and meeting assessment requirements.
Kate is also a Director of the Children's Rights Officers and Advocates Association (CROA), the national membership organisation supporting independent children's advocates and rights officers.
Kate spent her early career working with looked after children in secure settings moving on to manage a residential children's home. She has a Masters Degree in the Ethics of Social Welfare and volunteers as an Independent Visitor and children's advocate.
